PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER REAL PROPERTY TAX CREDIT – FY2025

On December 15, 2023, the Prince George’s County Council enacted Council Bill CB-087-2023, which established a Public Safety Officer Property Tax Credit for county first responders who have “Real Property”, in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  This bill specifically targets “volunteer firefighters or emergency medical technicians” eligible under the Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP).

As discussed at the Fire Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the Office of Finance has entrusted the Fire Commission with a crucial task. We are to create a database of eligible volunteer members of the Fire/EMS Department who meet the criteria for the tax credit. Your role in this process is vital. The following form has been created to assist in collecting this information.
