FIRE COMMISSIONERS

Prince George's County Fire Commissioners are elected by the member departments and serve a term of one year. Their election is at the second Commission meeting in the month of July during aspecial 'Election Convention'.

Immediately following their election, the Commission must then choose a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and make appointments for various duties such as L.O.S.A.P. and training certification. Once this is completed the Commission can then proceed to do what they were elected to do; formulate, oversee, manage, and audit variouos funds that eash member company is elegible to receive. This, along with other duties, keeps the Commissioners quite busy.

Although numerous persons have been elected to this body over the years, they all have proven themselves to be hardworking, knowlegeable, and dedicated to maintaining and improving a unique and well respected fire service.
